What We Do

At SHE Gynaecological Cancer Group, everything we do is centred around care, connection, and community. We support Tasmanian women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers by providing practical help, raising awareness, and developing a new model of holistic care.

Shining a Light on Gynaecological Cancers

Awareness Campaigns

We raise awareness of the five gynaecological cancers — ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal — through bold, creative and high-impact public awareness campaigns.

From lighting up Hobart teal in February for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, to community partnerships with the JackJumpers and Brooke Street Pier, we bring visibility to women’s cancer issues that are too often left in the shadows.

Our aim? Early detection, more informed conversations, and better outcomes for Tasmanian women.

Comfort and Support for Women Newly Diagnosed

SHE Care Packs

Our signature SHE Care Packs offer comfort, dignity, and emotional support to women newly diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.

Each thoughtfully curated pack includes items like heat packs, journals, specialist oral care, soothing teas, skincare, and handmade teal face cloths.

Assembled with love by local volunteers and delivered to hospitals and cancer centres across the state, these packs are a tangible reminder that no woman walks this journey alone.

Over 100 Care Packs have already been distributed across Tasmania — and we’re just getting started.

A Purpose-Built Space for Holistic Cancer Support

The SHE Wellness Centre

Coming soon

Set to open in Hobart’s hospital precinct, the SHE Wellness Centre will be a world-class space designed for holistic cancer support.

Inspired by Jo Harris and championed by Scott Harris, the Centre will offer:

This Centre will fill critical care gaps in Tasmania’s current health system by focusing on whole-person wellbeing — physical, emotional, and practical.

With planning now underway, the SHE Wellness Centre is a powerful next step in our mission to change the way cancer care is delivered in Tasmania.
