Alex Norris has been deeply involved with S.H.E. Gynaecological Cancer Group for the past year, serving as Executive Officer and helping to drive the organisation’s mission to support women and families affected by gynaecological cancers.
Alex says “As a mum, I can’t imagine what it would be like to be told I had cancer and have my first thought be, ‘How on earth do I tell my kids?’ The Wellness Centre can be that space of relief, privacy, comfort, and respite for parents and children—a home away from home during an incredibly challenging time.”
Alex chooses to donate and invest in the SHE Wellness Centre because she believes in creating a sanctuary where families can feel supported, cared for, and empowered to focus on healing. “Here’s our chance to really put Tasmania on the national and international cancer treatment stage; a facility that can lead the way for how we care for those with cancer holistically—before, during, and after treatment. This Centre is about more than treatment—it’s about restoring hope, dignity, and comfort when it matters most. I’m proud to help make that vision a reality for Tasmanians.”
